Balance ... for a change

Over the past eight years our communities have been in decline. A lack of water, jobs, social services and growing traffic jams indicates that our county government is not protecting its' citizens. Businesses have left our valley and most communities in District One do not even have a grocery store. The question for voters is whether an election can make a difference. I believe your vote will make that difference. That is why I am running and why I need your vote in June 2010.

As your newly elected supervisor, I will focus on improving our infrastructure
by eliminating traffic jams and maintaining our county roads. I will recruit businesses by reaching out to essential enterprises like grocery stores and attracting ventures that will generate jobs. The social safety net of services available to persons who fall on hard times must be secured as well. Finally, I will work to obtain our fair share of our state's water. I will fight the interests in San Francisco and Los Angeles that attempt to deny us our livelihood.

Our county is a great place to live but we must protect it. To ensure a future for our families I will bring "balance for a change"  to District One. I would appreciate your vote.

Over the past eight years, our district has seen our water disappear, our businesses shut down, our jobs terminated and our social safety net reduced. We can do better. As your Supervisor I will focus on:

1. WATER, WATER, WATER! How can we have a policy that the breadbasket of our nation should go without water? I will fight for our water rights.
2. TRAFFIC JAMS IN OUR DISTRICT! As your Supervisor I will focus on eliminating gridlock.
3. INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENT! As your Supervisor I will fight to obtain our full allotment of Measure C funds and free up funds by balancing the budget as I have done in the city of Fresno.
4. COMMUNITY SECURITY! As Supervisor I will vote to maintain current levels of county law enforcement, firefighters as well as work on coordinating city-county law enforcement efforts.
5. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT! As Supervisor I will reach out to the business community and implement policies that will attract companies to our county.
6. SAFETY NET MAINTENANCE! When voters fall on hard times there must be a temporary safety net to help. As Supervisor I will insure that social benefits are maintained.
